Privacy Policy
The short version: XV does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. Period.
XV: Xcode Versions ("the App") is designed with a privacy-first philosophy. We believe developer tools should respect your privacy unconditionally — no exceptions, no fine print.
Data We Collect
None. The App does not collect any data from you. Specifically:
- No personal information (name, email, phone number, etc.)
- No usage analytics or telemetry
- No device identifiers or fingerprinting
- No location data
- No tracking cookies or pixels
- No crash reporting to external services
- No behavioral or interaction tracking
Third-Party SDKs & Services
XV includes zero third-party SDKs, analytics frameworks, or tracking libraries. There is no Firebase, no Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no Amplitude — nothing. The App communicates only with Apple's infrastructure for App Store functionality and with xcodereleases.com to retrieve Xcode release data.
Network Requests
The App makes network requests solely to fetch Xcode release data from its data source. This data is cached locally on your device for offline use. No personally identifiable information is sent with these requests.
Local Data Storage
XV caches Xcode release data locally on your device to enable offline access. This data is stored using standard system frameworks and remains entirely on your device. No data is synced to external servers.
Accounts & Authentication
XV does not require or support user accounts. There is no sign-up, no login, and no authentication of any kind.
Children's Privacy
Since XV collects no data whatsoever, it is inherently safe for users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under the age of 13.
Changes to This Policy
If this privacy policy is ever updated, changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Given the App's architecture, it is unlikely this policy will ever need to become less restrictive.
End User License Agreement
This End User License Agreement ("Agreement") is a legal agreement between you ("User") and the developer of XV: Xcode Versions ("Developer") for the use of the XV application ("App").
1. License Grant
The Developer grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on any Apple device that you own or control, subject to the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions.
2. Restrictions
You may not: (a) copy, modify, or distribute the App; (b) reverse engineer, disassemble, or decompile the App; (c) rent, lease, lend, sell, or sublicense the App; (d) use the App for any unlawful purpose; or (e) remove or alter any proprietary notices in the App.
3. Intellectual Property
The App and all related content, features, and functionality are owned by the Developer and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Xcode release data is sourced from xcodereleases.com, a community-maintained resource.
4. Disclaimer of Warranties
THE APP IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. THE DEVELOPER DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS. XCODE RELEASE DATA IS PROVIDED FOR INFORMATIONAL PURPOSES AND MAY NOT ALWAYS REFLECT THE MOST CURRENT INFORMATION FROM APPLE.
5. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT SHALL THE DEVELOPER BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE APP.
6. Apple's Role
This Agreement is between you and the Developer only, not with Apple. Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support services for the App. To the extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no warranty obligation for the App. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App.
7. Termination
This Agreement is effective until terminated. Your rights under this Agreement will terminate automatically if you fail to comply with any of its terms. Upon termination, you must cease all use of the App and delete all copies.
8. Governing Law
This Agreement shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Terms of Use
By downloading or using XV: Xcode Versions, you agree to these terms.
Acceptable Use
XV is a reference tool intended to help developers look up Xcode release information. You agree to use the App only for its intended purpose and in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Data Accuracy
XV presents Xcode release data sourced from xcodereleases.com. While we strive for accuracy, we cannot guarantee that all information is complete or up to date. Apple's official documentation should be considered the authoritative source for Xcode release information. Always verify downloads and checksums through official Apple channels.
Availability
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the App or its data source. Cached data allows offline access to previously loaded release information.
Updates
The Developer may release updates to the App from time to time. These terms apply to all versions of the App unless a separate agreement accompanies an update.
Apple Trademarks
Apple, Xcode, Swift, iOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS are trademarks of Apple Inc. XV is an independent application and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple Inc.
